This is a Japanese way of preparing green tea. It is made out of rough leaves after the season is over. This tea is known as ‘Three Years Tea’ as the leaves used are rough and mature. These are generally made during the last ‘Autumnal Flush’ (mid-November to mid-December). Bancha tea is almost caffeine free and full of all the nutrients therefore this tea is also recommended for pregnant and post menopause women and children. Bancha has a high level of antioxidants and has a unique flavor with a strong organic straw aroma.
